Web Writing and SEO: How Many Different Keywords Per Page?
Given their importance for visibility and traffic, keywords deserve a prominent place on web pages.

But is that really the case? If not, how many keywords should we integrate into our pages to succeed in our SEO strategy?
The rule: one keyword per page
Did you always believe that using several different keywords on the same web page would be enough for good referencing? Well, not at all! Know this from now on: Google and its robot friends do not see (or rather, no longer see) things this way.In fact, it is quite the opposite that is recommended.
In short, each page of the site should therefore be positioned on a unique term.
Adopting and applying a single-topic page policy is by far the best way to improve your natural referencing. But first, it is important to choose the main keyword to highlight and to think about the long tail. You must then ensure that this term is properly integrated into the structure of the page. Ideally, the keyword in question should appear in the two most important tags of the page, namely the H1 tag and the Title tag.
This way, it will be easier for Google to understand that the content it is analyzing corresponds to the user's request.
The exception: multiple keywords of the same family on one page
In some cases, it is possible to associate several other secondary keywords with a page, in addition to the main theme. The goal is still to maximize the site's referencing. Indeed, associating terms of the same family with the main keyword allows for connecting the page to a corpus.
For your information, the term “corpus” refers in the Net universe to a number of documents that, taken together, relate to the same idea. The advantage for the page is that it can be referenced based on most variations of the main theme. Naturally, this increases the number of visits to the site while maximizing conversions at the same time.
For a main keyword, which is for example: “plumbing repair.” Possible variations could be “plumbing service,” “best plumber,” or “leak repair.” Thus, if the user enters one of these requests into Google, there is a strong chance that your page will be among those displayed by the search engine.
How many different keywords per page: what should we remember?
Each keyword its page and each page its keyword. This is the main rule to remember for a good referencing policy. It is also possible to broaden your visibility and traffic by positioning yourself on a certain number of secondary expressions. But in either case, the wise choice and proper allocation of keywords must be taken into account.Take Action
